We need to design the future by putting change not only as a cool word, but also as the basis of a development strategy in line with global dynamics and Turkey’s goals.’ The session, which ended with the questions and answers of the participants, was met with great interest.
“As the sector, we are trying to protect the existing”
Speaking at the event, Abdullah Arslan, Chairman of the Board of Directors of OMÜD Corrugated Cardboard Industrialists’ Association, said that this was the first event hosted under the roof of the association after the 19th Ordinary General Assembly Meeting and stated that they plan to implement many more projects that will contribute to the development of the sector. Giving information about the current situation of the global economy and the corrugated cardboard sector in his presentation, Arslan said the following ‘Geopolitical tensions such as the energy crisis that started with the Russia-Ukraine War and the global impact caused by the Israeli-Palestinian War are also reflected on the economy. All these developments may lead to a decline in consumption and a decrease in demand across the world, thus causing contractions in our sector. In addition, high inflation and stagnation in economies still continue worldwide. We observe that the growth in our country is largely driven by the banking and finance sector, while there is a contraction in the real sector. Under all these economic conditions, as the corrugated cardboard sector, we continue by trying to maintain the current situation.’
