Commenting on export figures of the chemicals industry in June, Chairman of Board of the Istanbul Chemicals and Chemical Products Exporters’ Assembly (İKMİB), Adil Pelister said: “As the chemical industry, our chemicals and chemical products exports in June reached 2.3 billion dollars in value. There was a decline in both our general and industry exports due to the loss of working days during the Eid al-Adha holiday. On the other hand, factors such as disruptions in global supply chains and increases in production and logistics costs affect our export performance. While the exports of our chemical industry decreased by 6.5 percent in June, it increased by nearly 8 percent considering the six-month period. Our industry managed to get a 12 percent share of the national exports in June, maintaining its second place among the highest exporting sectors. Our exports in the period between January and June exceeded 15 billion dollars and reached 15.8 billion dollars. We note the importance of the chemical industry when we look at the top 10 most powerful states in the world. Our chemicals industry, which has strategic importance for the growth of our country and the development of the economy, ranks first among both Turkiye’s top 500 largest industrial enterprises and the top 1000 exporters. As İKMİB, we support our companies for the development and stable growth of our industry, meticulously consider their suggestions and help solve their problems. As İKMİB, we will continue to work with all our strength to help our exporters overcome the difficulties they face.”
