Commenting on export figures of the chemicals industry in April, Chairman of the Board of Istanbul Chemicals and Chemical Products Exporters Association (İKMİB) Adil Pelister said: “In April, our chemicals and chemical products achieved an export value of 2.5 billion dollars and an increase of 5 percent compared to the same month of the previous year. We became the second highest exporting industry having 15.3 percent share of our country’s national exports. In the first four months, our exports reached an export value of 10.5 billion dollars. Exports of our industry grew by 7.3 percent in the four-month period. As İKMİB, we have conducted many activities since the beginning of the year, from trade delegation to national participation in exhibitions, from buying mission to info stand participation and exhibition visits. We will continue to support our industry and exporters and contribute to our country’s national exports by working harder. Türkiye continues to grow with chemistry.”
“Mineral fuels and products” was the highest exported sub-industry in April
In April exports of mineral fuels products among sub-sectors of chemicals and chemical products reached 866 million 856 thousand dollars in value and occupied the first place. Plastics and products occupied the second place with exports reaching 695 million 680 thousand dollars in value while exports of inorganic chemicals occupied the third place with 195 million 578 thousand dollars in export value. Other sectors in top ten following ‘inorganic chemicals’ were ‘essential oils, cosmetics and soap’, ‘rubber, rubber products’, ‘pharmaceuticals’, ‘paint, varnish, ink and their products’, ‘miscellaneous chemical agents’, ‘cleaning products,’ and ‘organic chemicals’.
Romania became the highest receiver of exports in April
Romania was the highest exported country in April with 287.9 million dollars. The top ten countries that were the highest receiver of exports in April were Romania, Holland, USA, Spain, Italy, Russia, Germany, Belgium, Ukraine, and Iraq. The highest increase in April among the top 10 countries was to Holland with 173.70 percent increase.
