Commenting on export figures of the chemicals industry in July, Chairman of Board of Istanbul Chemicals and Chemical Products Exporters’ Assembly (İKMİB), Adil Pelister said: “As the chemical industry, our chemicals industry achieved 2.6 billion dollars of export value in July and preserved its ranking as the 2nd highest exporting industry among all industries. Our industry increased its exports by over 19 percent in July. Therefore, our export value for the first seven months reached 18.4 billion dollars. In the remaining period we will continue to work with all our might to keep our increasing export performance.”
“Plastics and products” was the highest exported product group in July
Plastics and products became the highest exported chemicals and products product group in July with an export value of 869 million 926 thousand dollars. The second group was mineral fuels and products with an export value of 512 million 133 thousand dollars while inorganic chemicals occupied the third place with an export value of 240 million 217 thousand dollars. ‘Inorganic chemicals’ were followed by ‘essential oils, cosmetics and soap’, ‘paint, varnish, ink, and products,’, ‘rubber, rubber products’, ‘pharmaceuticals,’ ‘miscellaneous chemical agents,’ ‘cleaning products,’ and ‘organic chemicals’ in the top ten.
Holland was the highest receiver of exports in July
Holland was the highest receiver of exports in July with 177 million dollars of export value. The top ten receiver of exports in July were Holland, USA, Russia, Romania, Iraq, Spain, Germany, Egypt, Italy, and England. The highest increase in July among the top 10 countries was achieved to Egypt with 157.57 percent.
