On 20 September 2024, at the award ceremony of the Pro Carton Young Designers Award competition held in Berlin, Turkey was proud with two important awards. Murat Yasir Dilek won the first prize in the Food & Beverage category and Derya Gök, Gizem Eryılmaz and Ayça Çaylı won the first prize in the Public Voting category. Thus, half of the total four awards distributed came to Turkey.
Selected from a total of 899 projects from 155 universities participating in the competition from 25 European countries, these successful young designers represented Turkey’s talents in the international arena. While Selçuk University student Murat Yasir Dilek achieved a great success in the Food & Beverage category with his innovative design, METU students Derya Gök, Gizem Eryılmaz and Ayça Çaylı won the first prize determined by public voting, showing once again how talented Turkey’s young designers are on the international platform.
We congratulate our young designers who won their awards and their teachers Dr Seda Duman Köylü from Selçuk University and Dr Damla Tönük from Middle East Technical University for their significant achievements. These awards have been an important step in making Turkey’s carton packaging industry and young designers more visible in the international arena.
