Turkey Exporters Assembly (TIM), announced the export figures for November 2024. Turkey’s November exports were recorded as 22 billion 300 million dollars. The furniture, paper and forestry products sector, which exported 690 million dollars last month, exported 671 million dollars in November. While the sector reached 7.2 billion dollars of exports in 11 months of the year, the country where the export share increased the most was the United States of America with 23 per cent and the country with the highest exports was Iraq with 1 billion 20 million dollars. Evaluating the November figures, Erkan Özkan, President of Istanbul Furniture, Paper and Forestry Products Exporters’ Association, said: ’Despite all the difficulties we are experiencing, we strive to complete 2024 as efficiently as possible. We will continue to work with all our strength to reach our year-end target,’ he said.
Turkey’s export data for the month of November 2024 was shared by the Turkish Exporters Assembly (TIM). Turkey’s exports fell 3.1 per cent compared to the same month last year, while exports for the last 12 months increased by 2.3 per cent to $ 261.5 billion. November exports were recorded as 22 billion 300 million dollars. In November 2023, exports of furniture, paper and forestry products sector, which was 686 million dollars in November, totalled 671 million dollars in the same month of this year. While the sector exported 7.2 billion dollars in 11 months of the year, Iraq took the first place among the countries with the highest exports with 1 billion 20 million dollars. The second place was the United Kingdom with 405 million dollars and the third place was the United States of America with 353 million dollars of exports. In the continuation of the list, there are countries such as Germany, Libya, Iran, Morocco, France, Romania and Georgia, while the country where the export share increased the most was the United States of America with 23.52 per cent.
‘We work with the goal of maximum efficiency and high exports’
Stating that the fierce competition and changing dynamics in world trade make domestic producers’ stronger day by day, although it is difficult from time to time, Erkan Özkan, President of Istanbul Furniture, Paper and Forestry Products Exporters’ Association, said: ’Our sector continues to maintain its remarkable performance despite the difficulties it has experienced. In the 11 months of 2024, we exported a total of 7.2 billion dollars and this figure was recorded as 671 million dollars in November. We always work with the goal of maximum efficiency and high exports. We said at the beginning of the year that 2024 would be a challenging year, but thanks to the dedication of our manufacturers to increase their competitiveness in the global market, we drew a stable graph. Especially by participating in fairs and promotional organizations throughout the year, we both strengthened our position in our existing markets and gained a presence in new markets. We are making a great effort to reach our year-end targets. By maintaining the stability, we achieved in 2025, we want to show the power of domestic production more in the world arena,’ he said.
