The insolvency administrator of D.W. Renzmann Apparatebau GmbH, lawyer Jens Lieser from LIESER Rechtsanwälte, has successfully sold the medium-sized mechanical engineering company based in Monzingen (Rhineland-Palatinate) to JR New Horizons GmbH, the independent investment branch of the Rieckermann Group based in Hamburg. This means that the company, which specializes in the manufacture of industrial washing machines and solvent distillation units for the printing sector and the paint and coatings industry, has been rescued just three months after filing for insolvency.
The buyer, Rieckermann, is a privately managed group of companies with an international presence and offers customized production and process solutions for various industrial sectors.
Rieckermann is the partner of choice
In its 130-year company history, Rieckermann has made a name for itself in its core markets, particularly in Asia. With its broad service portfolio and dedicated local service colleagues, the company now provides long-term support to its customers in 17 countries. “The Rieckermann Group is our partner of choice for the continuation of Renzmann’s business. It is a company with a strong position in its sector and a global network, which has excellent contacts and wants to continue Renzmann’s business in its current form,” says insolvency administrator Jens Lieser.
Strong commitment to the Renzmann team
“I am delighted that almost all of the approximately 100 employees will keep their jobs. This is a strong commitment by the acquirer to Renzmann’s highly qualified workforce,” says Jens Lieser. There was already a close cooperation between the two companies before the takeover as part of a transferring reorganization, as Rieckermann is responsible for Renzmann’s sales in Asia. The notarized purchase agreement was signed last week and came into force on February 14, 2025. Renzmann employees have since been informed about the acquisition and the continuation of business operations at a staff meeting.
Important building block in the Rieckermann Group’s overall offering
“I warmly welcome the employees of Renzmann to the Rieckermann family and look forward to working with them,” says Flynn Seidel, Managing Director of JR New Horizons GmbH. “The investment fits perfectly into our portfolio strategy in the Packaging Materials Solutions industrial sector. Here we are focusing particularly on the needs of the printing industry in Asia and Renzmann significantly complements our offering for these customers in the area of peripherals, especially with regard to environmentally friendly process solutions,” adds Kristian Rieck, Head of Industry PAMA at the Rieckermann Group.
Renzmann solutions save costs for customers and the environment
The machines developed and produced by Renzmann are in great demand internationally in the printing sector and the paint and coating industry. For example, printing unit parts used by printing companies or containers used in the production of inks or coatings must be carefully cleaned again and again during the production processes. In addition to aqueous solutions, solvent-based substances and procedures are often used in these processes. For the sustainable recycling of these solvents, Renzmann offers an extensive portfolio of distillation systems that are characterized by an above-average recycling rate. This protects the environment and contributes to significant cost savings for the customer.
Stabilization of business operations and good order situation
Insolvency administrator Lieser had stabilized Renzmann’s business operations during the insolvency period and continued them without restrictions. In a recessionary phase, the mechanical engineering company Renzmann has a good order situation, which gives hope for the future. Insolvency administrator Lieser and his team were therefore quick to look for potential investors who would acquire Renzmann in the course of a transferring reorganization. Thanks to the investor Rieckermann, a stable future is now guaranteed.
