Organized by İKMİB in Doha, Qatar on February 16-19, 2025 for packaging industry, the Qatar Packaging Industrial Trade Mission was completed with success. 10 companies from Turkish packaging products industry participated in the Industrial Trade Mission organized in Qatar to expand business opportunities and establish new trade connections.
Ambassador of the Republic of Türkiye to Doha, Dr. M. Mustafa Göksu, Commercial Attaches of the Republic of Türkiye to Doha Muhammet Fatih Çetinkaya and Sinem Eğlenen visited the event and gave information to companies about the market. In addition, Chairman of Qatar Chamber of Commerce, Khalifa bin Jassim Al Thani visited the matchmaking meetings and wished the participants good luck.
238 matchmaking meetings were organized
Important connections were made during the trade mission in Doha to establish new cooperation and increase exports. During the event, Turkish companies presented various packaging products to buyers.
Retail tour was conducted as Qatar market research during the three-day event while matchmaking meetings were also organized. In the activity where 15 representatives from 10 Turkish companies and 46 foreign companies attended, 238 matchmaking meetings were organized.

Adil Pelister: “Our plastic packaging exports to Qatar reached 9.5 million dollars in value”
Chairman of Board of İKMİB Adil Pelister noted that exports of plastic packaging industry increased every year and said: ” while plastic packaging exports was 3.5 billion dollars in value in 2023, it increased by 4.6 percent in 2024 and reached 3.7 billion dollars in value. The top five receivers of plastic packaging exports in 2024 were England, Germany, USA, Italy, and Iraq. Exports to Qatar increased by 8.42 percent and reached 9.5 million dollars in value. We believe that the industrial trade mission organized to Qatar will enable establishment of new business connections by our industry and contribute to increasing exports. Among our 16 sub-industries, plastics industry occupies the top ranks in terms of exports. Plastic packaging exports have a significant share in plastics industry. Plastic packaging industry is a major building block of Turkish economy not only with its export numbers, but also with the added value and employment it provides. As İKMİB we will continue to support our industry to continue increased sustainable exports. We are targeting to give a strong support to our industry in 2025 in international exhibitions and activities. Such activities will enable our companies to develop new global cooperation. In this scope we are planning to organize our second packaging industrial trade mission to Spain-Portugal in May 5-10, 2025.”
